Julia Zhang is an artist based in Montgomery county, Maryland. Her work reflects the poignant moments in her daily life as she strives to embrace life to its fullest. Julia's artistic journey began in childhood but was interrupted when she pursued a more applied career path in college. She holds a BS in Economics, an MS in Computer Science, and an MFA in Design, building a versatile career in economic analysis, software engineering, data visualization, animation, and virtual reality.

In 2015, she joined the Scientific Visualization Studio at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as a digital artist. In 2023, she began a new chapter as a full-time student in the MFA Studio Art program at American University, transitioning into traditional studio art.

Julia’s diverse career experiences provide her with unique perspectives that deepen her understanding of her subjects and broaden her artistic approach.
